I really wish that I'd brought my camera so you could really see what this is all about.
We went to TigerWorld, an indoor water park and spa for our day off this past Monday. It was really fun and a nice relaxing way to spend a cold day in February. The water was the perfect temperature and it wasn't too crowded, which is all great - BUT my favorite part of the facility was the spa area!!!! Imagine a room full of different baths and a huge jacuzzi. One side of the room was lined with everything from a cool Chinese Bath, to a bubbling Greek Bath and a very hot Turkish bath and steam rooms while the other had cool couples foot massage tubs and a dry heat sauna. In the middle was a HUGE pool that had places to lie down along the side with jets shooting up under your back and legs, and places to sit with more jets in the middle! It also had a waterfall that would massage your back as you sat under it. I could have stayed in there all day.
The most memorable part of the day, though, was the Doctor Fish. For a little over $5 you could sit with your legs in a shallow pool for 30 minutes while little fish came and nibbled on your legs and toes removing dead skin. It was the craziest thing I've done in a while. Those little things tickled so bad I almost didn't make it past the first 5 minutes. After I finally got used to it, it was amazing to watch. They were all over my heels and my toes. When they went to my arches I thought I would go through the ceiling! I guess you could call it a natural pedicure. I don't know if there is anything like this in the states - so I'm glad I tried it here! The kids wanted to try it, but I don't think they could have handled it. They probably would have killed something with jerking their legs around.
My friend, Judith, and I tried it and now we can check it off our list of things we've done Only In Korea - the OINK list.
